I don’t know if this will work?? But I’ve been really really REALLY REALLY busy and haven’t had any time to read or pay any attention to this blog. I’ve got one book to review, but in the meantime I have an idea???
I would really really love it if you guys submitted book reviews to me.
Like, it could be your favorite book, or a book you just read, or a book you hate, and it could be long or short and I don’t care how it’s formatted, and it’ll be like a little promotion for your blog too so we both win.
I just honestly would love to see your guys’ thoughts on books and I think it would be cute.
Alright I told you guys I was gonna review Ender’s Game, but then I started reading about the controversy with Orson Scott Card, and that just left a bad taste in my mouth. So I’m waiting a little while until I feel like I can review the book as itself without being too influenced by my opinions of the author.
In other news, I’m going to finish the next Dexter book soon so you can expect a very angry review in the next couple days, and I dropped by Half Price Books and got some great finds, so check out my twitter or instagram if you want to see today’s book haul, as well as past (and future) book hauls (:
Start reading GATED by Amy Christine Parker, hitting shelves August 6th, 2013! In the Community, life seems perfect. The members of this isolated suburban development have thrived under Pioneer, the charismatic leader who saved them from their sad, damaged lives. Lyla Hamilton and her parents moved here following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, looking to escape the evil in the world. Now seventeen, Lyla knows certain facts are not to be questioned: Pioneer is her leader. Will is her Intended. The end of the world is near. Like Noah before him, Pioneer has been told of the imminent destruction of humanity. He says his chosen must arm themselves and prepare to fight off the unchosen people, who will surely seek refuge in the compound’s underground fortress-the Silo. Lyla loves her family and friends, but given the choice, she prefers painting to target practice. And lately she’d rather think about a certain boy outside the development than plan for married life in the Silo with Will. But as the end of days draws near, she will have to pick up a gun, take a side, and let everyone know where she stands.
I will be receiving an ARC of this at some point, and I’ll review it for you, so here’s a free look at the first chapter! This is provided by Random Buzzers, so please feel free to click on that link if you’d like to have opportunities like this one in the future! (: Enjoy!
Pulling an all-nighter so I decided to make a Twitter? At the moment it’s mostly book-related, so although I don’t post many book pictures on here, you can expect some there! (:
